Before you know it, we’ll be in the thick of the holiday season! But between decorating, buying presents, baking cookies, and frequent travel, this time often feels frenzied. It’s important to slow down and cherish these days we have with family and loved ones.
To help our DE residents do just that, Precision Door of Delaware has rounded up 4 holiday events happening in the Wilmington, DE, area over the 2016-2017 holiday season.
Christmas in Odessa
Main Street in Odessa, DE, is lined with gorgeously restored 18th- and 19th-century homes. For the past 52 years, Odessa has embraced a special Christmas tradition, transforming these buildings into brilliant architectural light displays in the days leading up to December 25.
Christmas in Odessa is a wonder-filled walking tour that strolls by these famous private and public homes on the night of December 3, welcoming attendees to experience old-time Odessa and the spirit of the holidays. In addition to the walking tour, you can look forward to a performance by Newark Fife and Drum, traditional carols, and an antique show and sale.
A Longwood Christmas at Longwood Gardens
Fountains, lights, and music unite at Longwood Garden’s tribute to Christmas and the holidays: A Longwood Christmas. Through January 8, listen to and sing along with organ performances in the cheery Conservatory, stroll below colorfully lit pathways, and get warm by outdoor fire pits or snap a candid family photo rocking around the garden’s signature 18-foot-tall immaculately decorated Christmas tree.
From poinsettias to fireplaces, Longwood’s natural indoor and outdoor spaces make the quintessential landscape for getting you and your crew in the holiday mood.
