Turkey Round Up

Precision Door sponsored The Food Bank of Delaware’s Turkey Round Up on Thursday, November 12, 2015, just as they have for many years. This event was held at three different Food Lion locations in Dover, Middletown and Bear, Delaware. Precision Door joined other presenting sponsors such as Buffalo Wild Wings, First State Orthopedics and ATI Physical Therapy as members of the community came out to donate turkeys and non-perishable foods.

The Food Bank of Delaware is a member of Feeding America and serves the state as a nonprofit agency who envisions a community free of hunger. This organization is committed to providing nutritious food to those in need as well as solutions to hunger and poverty through education and community outreach.

Precision Door shares in The Food Bank of Delaware’s ideals, and believes in the importance of helping those in need, especially during the holiday season. The Turkey Round Up is a great way to give back to the community and help others enjoy the season as well.

WDEL’s Feed-A-Friend

This is the first year that Precision Door will be participating in WDEL’s 10th Annual Feed-A-Friend food drive taking place on December 3rd, 2015. For this benefit, you’ll call the WEDEL studios to make your pledge, or submit your pledge by clicking here and submitting the form. Every $11.50 that you donate, WDEL will purchase a case of food to feed those who need it right within the Delaware community this winter.

  • Newark Area Welfare Committee
  • Emmanuel Dining Room
  • YWCA Delaware
  • Sunday Breakfast Mission
  • St. Paul’s Church Outreach Center

WDEL’s 9th annual Feed-A-Friend raised $11,118 in last year’s food drive. The Reverend Tom Laymon of the Sunday Breakfast Mission told WDEL, “You’re probably getting 15-20 meals out of the $11.50 so that’s extraordinary. It may seem so small, that meal can seem so small, but it can turn a life around and make a world of difference.”
